Officer-Involved Shootings Do Not Shock Me

These days, the idea of an officer being involved in a shooting makes many people have a fit. I am not sure why since that is all part of the job description. Do people think they carry those guns around for fun? There will always be times when people will need to use them.

I know this [robably sounds like I am prejudice, especially since many of the shootings people are ranting about involve a white officer killing a black person, but that is not the case. In fact, I am black myself. I know that there will be times when officers will need to harm people of all colors and I am pretty okay with that.

Everyone talks about how they are supposed to use tasers and all of this, but no one knows what in the world they would do if they were in that situation. Besides, someone could randomly stab an officer or someone else at the scene while someone is fumbling trying to find pepper spray or a taser. Also, those devices only have a limited range, so a gun is their best bet.

I just read about an officer-involved shooting that happened in College Park, GA. Apparently, there was a police chase and it ended with the suspect being shot and killed. They did not say who fired the fatal bullet. I say you should not run away from the police and put them in hot pursuit if you value your life.

I know that I have an unpopular opinion with people of my ethnicity, but I really do not care. The more that people want to try protecting the “victims” here the more they are saying that the police cannot be trusted, and I am never going to co-sign on that one.
